Over the years, I have developed a checklist of guidelines that can assist you in your decision-making process. I call it “The 10 Vital Qualities to Insist upon.” Please refer to my new YouTube video called “How to Find and Start the Best Internet Home Based Business Opportunity for You.”
10 Vital Qualities to Insist upon while Seeking the Best Internet Home Based Business Opportunity for You.
- Low Start-up Cost: Find one with a low start-up cost/investment. Many opportunities require $1,000 to $3,000 and more to get started. Be careful! Some of the best ones have a low start-up cost. Some even allow you to get started for a FREE trial period. These are excellent because they allow you to test drive their system before you invest ANY hard-earned dollars. A huge initial investment could stop you , in your tracks, before you even get started.
- Valuable Products: The opportunity you are looking at must have products that are valuable by a wide range of people. Products with worldwide appeal are even better. The products should include things that nearly everyone could benefit from having or using.
- Consumable Product: Consumable products or services are those that people can benefit from over and over again… month after month. This repeat business ensures stability in your business and satisfied repeat needs.
- Short Learning Curve: It must have a short learning curve in order for it to attract the masses. Some companies require countless hours of learning, preparation and getting ready to get started. Some require endless watching of Webinars, training seminars and reading to get ready to start. A short learning curve allows you to get started quicker… and into profit faster.
- Simple Automated System: Companies that have a simple-to-use automated system are the best to get involved with. Many people avoid systems that require a lot of complicated set-up. Some even require technical knowledge that few have. Find one that is simple to use and set up. (Here is where customer support, tech support and a good upline can help.)
- NO Selling or Explaining: If you like to sell… that’s fine. If you do not like to sell… find a company that has a variety of high-quality professional multi-media overview business presentations. When their presentation is good it does all the telling, selling and explaining for you. That means less rejection and less time to come up to speed. It is also good for “duplication.” It demonstrates that YOU do not have to know it all. That makes potential business associates and team members feel more comfortable– knowing that they don’t have to know it all to get started. By using those tools you set an example that they will follow. People basically follow “what you do” as opposed to “what you say.”
- National Recognition: Be careful of “ground-floor” opportunities and new start-ups. They need time to work out the bugs in their systems. Instead, find a company that is well-established (yet not too well-established) and one that has some national media recognition and validation. If they have been listed in the Inc 500 “fastest growing business list,” or have had write-ups in magazines like Entrepreneur or even national newspapers they could be considered.
- Online Support: Look for an opportunity that allows you to be in business for yourself but not by yourself. There should be support from upline leaders. Companies that provide active online forums are valuable because they can assist new representatives get more specific information when they need it. Telephone Support: Have you ever inquired about a company or worked with a company where you were not able to talk with a real person? Customer service, that can be reached is important.
- Income for Life: Find a company that has good provisions for you to develop “residual income”… which is “Income for Life.” It’s the kind of income that keeps coming in even when you slow down or stop…Nothing like a job that pays you only as long as you trade your hours for dollars. Because when you stop trading your hours they stop paying the dollars.
- Mentorship: Mentors are important. Even more important than finding a great company/opportunity it is vital to join with someone who will be a mentor dedicated to your success. Companies often have teams that are growing faster than other teams because of the leadership and team training. Look for that. Although this quality is last on this list it is of utmost importance. Finding a good leader, mentor and team is actually more important than the company, products or compensation plan.
