READ This BEFORE you Join a FREE Online Business


Perhaps you have been attracted to various FREE businesses like I have. After looking closer you found there was a Large Start-up cost. They usually range from $200 to $2,000. Many require Monthly Auto Ship Purchases for you to get paid. and, from personal experience, they can be a real drag and drain on the checking account.

Trouble with Starting and Not Finishing Projects

Have you ever started a project and never could get yourself to finish it?
It was a trait for me.. way back into childhood until I learned this…

I finally saw a pattern of not getting things finished. I thought back to my younger years when I started building things or doing various projects. It seemed like I got off to a powerful start and got to about the 90-95% mark. At that point I just stopped as thought there was some kind of mental block or road block. Have you ever done that?

As I thought back over my life I recalled numerous things I never brought to completion. As I introspected further I also realized that there were a few things.. big things… that I did bring to completion… and I have the proof.

Now, whenever I am tempted to stop before completion I say to myself something like this:

“In the past I often did not finish things. But NOW I realize that I am able to bring important things to completion. And I have the proof because I started ________ and finished it. And here is the proof. I have this_______  (certificate, license, book, degree, finished project) to prove it. So, I AM ABLE to finish things.”

Plug in your own successes and think about them more than you think about your failures. (Law of Attraction asserts that we attract what we think about.) It is also good to remember the positive feelings of completing a project. Remember those successful feelings as you begin another project.

It helped me to make a list of all my past successes. By thinking about them I feel empowered.

Eliminate Fear of Failure

The Fear of Failure Can Paralyze a Person
and Block the Action that will Lead to Success.

Many of us have felt the powerful hand of the fear of failure. It blocks action and leads to procrastination.

Here is one way to neutralize this fear.

When a rocket is launched the goal or target has already been determined. For example the Apollo crafts were sent to the moon. On the way to the moon, the Goal, the craft veered off course several times. These were not failures in the guidance system. Minor course corrections were needed to stay on course- so that the goal of the moon could be reached.

What if we were to consider our business “failures” as opportunities for course corrections? Just like the Apollo space craft, on the way to the moon, we are moving toward our goal. By reframing failures into something more positive- like an opportunity to correct the course by making small adjustments in our way of doing things we can eliminate the fear or failure because there is really NO FAILURE- but only the need to correct the course.

My favorite line in the movie Apollo 13 is “Failure is Not an Option.” There is no failure- only the need to make course corrections like changing the way we are talking with people or managing our business.

Frustrated by your Hewlett Packard Printer… Reset Power… Jam?

It’s difficult to run your business
when your printer locks
with lights flashing and
and a “Reset Power” message.

I know how frustrating it is to try to get things done in a timely manner and the HP printer locks up. I remember searching all over the internet and finding countless others with the same problem. In the past I seem to remember actually throwing a Hewlett Packard printer away and buying a new one because of this glitch. but NOT THIS TIME.

Here is what I found. I hope it helps you.

  1. It usually happens immediately following a paper jam. All the printer lights start flashing and the error says “Reset Power.” When that happens the printer will not accept new print jobs and will not print existing ones.

  2. I am guessing that the paper jam causes some sort of misalignment in the printer cartridges or the carriage mechanism. It doesn’t matter. Here is what I do whenever it happens:

  3. Disconnect the power cord. (If you don’t the printer will keep turning itself back on while you are trying to fit it.)

  4. With the printer’s power off – reach in (just above where the paper enters the printer) and manually move the slider that holds the ink cartridges to the far right where you can access them.

  5. Then- either remove the ink cartridges and put them right back or just slightly disengage them and push them back until they click.

  6. Plug the power cord back in and you may be pleasantly pleased with you just did.

UPDATE: Since the “Reset Power” message visited me again, a couple of times, I experimented and found a much quicker way to resolve it.

I found that we DO NOT have to unplug the printer. Simply turn it off and reach in and  press on the sliding ink carriage and move it right and left a couple of times. After doing that everything was fine in my case. I have used this method 2-3 times now.

There must be a reason why older printers seem to do this more often. Perhaps you know of a way to clean paper advancing rollers or clean the unit in some other way. Maybe cleaning will reduce the occurrence of this issue.

I always thought “Mind Reading” was the stuff of science fiction movies, like Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. How could that be possible? How could anyone really read our mind?

An Experiment that Changed my Thinking:

Then, nearly 40 years ago I did an experiment that demonstrated conclusively that we have a field of energy that emanates from our bodies. I built a very sensitive amplifier that was able to pick up my body’s signal up to 12 feet away. I detailed this in my post: The Power of Intention and Law of Attraction. It made me realize that if an energy field is radiated from my body it was reasonable that others may somehow be able to receive it.

Enter Law of Attraction:

I became so intrigued with the Law of Attraction I became dual certified as an LOA Trainer. In Law of Attraction terms our thoughts generate feelings and the feelings generate vibrations, or vibes, that are radiated out away from us. Have you ever walked into a home or a restaurant and said, “I don’t like the vibes in this place?” I Fully summarized the Law of Attraction, by way of two videos that you can find at: LOA-Video-1 and LOA-Video-2.

When I studied with Michael Oliver, author of “How to sell Network marketing without fear, anxiety or losing your friends!” I learned more about how LOA works in business. Michael summarized it as follows:

“Whatever you are feeling you’re resonating, and whatever you’re resonating is what you’re attracting.”

Michael wrote in his book:

“People buy solutions, goods and services, for their reasons not yours! They buy for what it will do for them, and how it will make them feel and how it will make them look to others and so on. People also buy you, because you are part of the solution.

If you appreciate, understand and can talk about this, the Magnetic Attraction it creates with your potential partner is profound. The field of energy of connection can only be understood once you experience it.

Everyday Examples:

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you? How many times have you looked at someone- thinking either good or bad thoughts and noticed them abruptly turn around and look directly at you? Sometimes they looked back at you with a frown and sometimes with a smile- depending what you were thinking about when you stared at them.

The Positive or Negative Power of Self Talk

I am sure you know about “self talk.” It is simply the things we say to ourselves. Have you ever tried to sell something while thinking, “He will probably say no?” Then you found that you were right… he did say no.

While working at the hospital as a physical therapist I learned control my self talk. For example, while going to visit a patient for the first time I would say, “I am really going to enjoy working with this person and he or she will also enjoy getting started with PT.” They usually proved me right by matching my self talk. Before I discovered the power of self talk I sometimes entered a room saying to myself, “The last thing they will want to do is get out of their warm bed and work with me.” And, they usually proved me right and refused to work with me.

When we approach a new customer or potential business partner our outward words need to match our inner words because if they are not congruent the sale will more than likely not happen. We are speaking two conflicting things at the same time. It is almost as though our inner thoughts are louder than the words we speak.

The Telepathic Factor:

So, it became clear to me that people can read my mind when I am talking directly with them or while in close proximity. Perhaps it has something to do with that energy field that emanates from our bodies. Perhaps that field is modulated with information or feelings that their brain can subconsciously interpret.

Then, Fredric Lehrman, author of “The Inner Factors that Control Outer Success” introduced the concept of what he calls the “Telepa-phone.” He demonstrated that people could also be influenced when they were at a great distance. Here is how it works: While getting ready to go to sleep he spent a few minutes thinking about the person he was to call the next day. Nothing too detailed. He simply pretended he dialed the phone and spoke briefly with them. He said he would be calling, in the morning, to discuss some things that could be mutually beneficial. On the next day, when he made the call he found the person open and receptive and sometimes even expecting a call. He tells of one person who was called. When the man answered he answered with enthusiasm- almost like he expected the call. Fredric asked, “Do you know who this?” The man said, “No, but I know it’s gonna be about money and it’s gonna be good.”

Did you know that successful situations, from your past, can empower you in the present?

Here is how it works:

Remember a past event that you were successful in doing.

Remember the feelings, sounds, images… basically everything about the situation that you can remember.

Then, ask yourself what that success says about you. In other words, does it say that you are able to succeed?… that you are able to move something from start to finish? etc.

Every time you remember that past success you will be empowered with “success” feelings and powerful resources that can help you in what ever you are doing now.

I’d like to give you a personal example… not to impress you but to impress upon you that if I can do it — so can you!

One of my past successes was writing a technical “How To” book and publishing it with McGraw Hill Publishers. As I think back on the series of events that led to its publication I realize the following things are true about myself:

  • I can organize things.
  • I can present difficult things is a simple manner that everyone can understand.
  • I can move a project from start to finish.
  • As I remember all the glowing testimonials I also realize that I am good at helping people achieve their goals.

So, remember some of your past successes. They may be large or small. They may include passing a difficult class or winning at something. And, when you identify one or more… vividly remember all the associated feelings and ask yourself what that success tells you about you. Let those feelings empower you to be successful at what you are currently doing. They will make your belief, in yourself, stronger.

Potholes to Avoid as you Build a Home Business

POTHOLE #1: The number one reason for failure is working more on your business more than on yourself. In order to attract leaders you must first learn to be a leader. In order to attract people with confidence and power you must first develop confidence and personal power. Marketers must work on their Mindset and their Belief system before they can be successful in any business.

If your company or team does not take this kind of personal development seriously the deck is stacked against you.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that stresses the importance of empowering YOU because YOU are the most valuable factor in your business. Business seekers are looking for people to join with… not just a company or product line or a compensation plan. Are you the kind of person others will want to join with?

POTHOLE #2 Many new business owners don’t understand the skill of Goal Setting. Did you know goals have four distinguishing characteristics that make them powerful? Here they are:

1. A GOAL must be clear (and written.)

2. It must have a time limit (If not… it is only a dream or fantasy.)

3. It must have a Plan or a map that keeps you on course.

4. You must be Working on the plan.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that understand and teaches the art of goal setting.

POTHOLE #3 Many new and excited marketers want to tell everyone everything as soon as possible. They want to present their program far too soon in the conversation. How can we possibly tell a prospect that we have “just the thing for them,” when we don’t even know what they want or need? Who is the only person that knows what they want and need?… them.

First, we must learn the art of asking questions to uncover their wants and needs. Then we can know if our solution is right for them. When we present it we can explain it in terms of what they said they wanted or needed… telling them how our solution can satisfy their needs.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that can help you to know when to present and when to not present. When we present our product of business too soon we can overwhelm them and actually drive them away. Giving too little information is always better than too much information. We call this the “exposure process” and it involves giving small bits of information that is directed by their answers to your questions along the way.

POTHOLE #4: Many new business owners do not know the basics of personality/learning styles. Have you ever noticed that some people love details while others just want the “Big Picture?” When you understand the differences in personality styles you can give the people more of what they can relate to.

Have you ever given a “Big Picture” person a bunch of details? How long did it take for them to lose interest and run the other way? On the other hand have you ever tried to skim over the surface only to find that the “detail” person wants all the facts, figures and proof they can get?.

Each of us has a primary personality style of 4 basic styles. It is always easy to communicate with others who share the same style. However, it more difficult communicating with those of another style. Did you know that if you could learn how to communicate with the other 3 styles you could actually increase your sales and effectiveness by up to 300%?

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that understands the value of various personality or learning styles and offers training on the subject.

POTHOLE #5: Many new business owners do not know the difference between “Hot Buttons” and “Heart Buttons.” I learned this vital distinction from my friend Michael Oliver. Remember, It does not matter WHAT people want that is important. What is important is WHY they want it.

For example, “Financial Freedom” may be a “Hot Button.” But the “Heart Button” is why they want financial freedom. It might be because they want to spend more quality time with their grandchildren. Heart buttons are all about inner emotions and feelings.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that teaches the difference between “hot buttons” and “heart buttons.”

POTHOLE #6: Many new business owners don’t understand the difference between features, advantages and benefits. And they think that they need to tell all about all the features. This is sometimes referred to “Feature Dumping.”

Let me tell you a story to illustrate this: When I operated my physical therapy private practice a photocopier salesman showed me a new copy machine. When he told me about the speed I was impressed. When he told me about the ease of use I was ready to buy. He kept talking and talking and talking until he finally said… “And another really cool FEATURE that it does is sorts and collates.” At that point I stopped him and said, “I will NEVER use that feature. I changed my mind. I don’t want this unit anymore.” There is a tendency for us as marketers to TALK TOO MUCH! When we do we can talk our way out of a sale. It’s always better to give too little information instead of too much.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that teaches the vital differences between features, advantages and benefits.

POTHOLE #7: Many people do not have a working knowledge of The Law of Attraction. In a nutshell the Law of Attraction can be described as “We Become a Powerful Magnet for Attracting Whatever We Focus on… Whether Good or Bad / Wanted or Unwanted.” As a dual-certified Law of Attraction Coach/Trainer I teach my Team members how to use the Law of Attraction to their benefit.

Did you know that you are already using the Law of Attraction in your business and in your life… whether you know it or not… whether you even believe it or not? It operates in everyone’s life, however, usually randomly. You must learn how to use the Law of Attraction DELIBERATELY to attract more of what you want and less of what you don’t want. If you don’t like the results you are getting there is a technique you can learn to RESET your results and get different results.

RECOMMENDATION: Find a business or a team that understands and teaches the important aspects of the Law of Attraction. Since it’s a proven fact that each of us is already using the law of Attraction wouldn’t it make sense to learn how to use it deliberately?
