A Key to Your Success

When working with people I like to modify Einstein’s quote by saying:

“After you get through this, I’ll accept one percent of the credit for inspiration and you get 99 percent of the credit for the perspiration.”

Yesterday, a lady shared with me. “Tom, I literally owe you my life. If it weren’t for your help, encouragement and guidance I don’t think I’d be alive right now.”

My response to her was, “I couldn’t have done it without you.”

Each of you is the star. You are the one at the driver’s seat. Oh, you may benefit from a mentor, a guide or people who can encourage you but when it is all said and done you can look in the mirror and thank the person looking back at you because YOU are the one who ultimately made it happen… the one who persevered and made it through.

Remember… YOU are the STAR!

Be Careful about Sharing Your Goals Too Soon

WARNING: Your Goals and Dreams could be in DANGER

Have you ever shared ideas, plans or intentions with the wrong people and only received negative and discouraging words in return? Me too.

When I work with people I often see great potential and great things for them. Sometimes these goals for them seem almost “delusional” to others who also know those people. Recently, I have learned to let things develop a little first — before saying too much about it.

Your Goals and dreams are like young and tender plants. They are fragile and easily damaged. Take care to water and nourish them. As your goals and dreams grow and develop you can more safely share them with others.

How do you feel about this? I am interested in knowing.

Law of Attraction- Simplified

“Everything should be made as simple as possible,
but not one bit simpler.”

Albert Einstein

“You are a living magnet.
What you attract into your life
is in harmony with your dominant thoughts.”
Brian Tracy

Whether you are building a Network Marketing Business, a Conventional Business, or looking for that “Ideal” relationship you can deliberately put the Law of Attraction to work for you. By using it properly you can attract more of what you want and less of what you don’t want.

Law of Attraction can seem complicated. Yet it is a very basic concept:

  • We start with words (positive or negative)
  • When we string the words together we have thoughts.
  • Thoughts produce moods or feelings. These moods or feelings cause us to emit or send out vibes (either positive or negative.)
  • Law of Attraction matches the vibes (whether they are good or bad, wanted or unwanted)
  • Good or bad results come to us.

5 vases-new

Law of Attraction does not pass judgment or make decisions. It simply matches the vibes that we offer.

I prepared an audio presentation to further describe Law of Attraction- Simplified. Hear an overview of Law of Attraction in under 4 minutes:

Where There is a Will There is a Way

I am sure this phrase has special meaning to many of you. Please share, in the comment section, your favorite experience or example of how this famous phrase helped you. I’ll start:

I was around 10 years old that day when our family, and a friend, were fishing off the coast of Fr. Myers, Florida. Suddenly, the motor became unresponsive. Although we heard the roar of the motor we were not moving anymore. My dad pulled on the outboard engine to look at the propeller and IT WASN”T THERE.

At that very moment my dad’s friend said, “Where there is a will there is a way.” I looked at him — wondering what he meant by that. It was the first time I had ever heard the phrase. Then, suddenly he jumped in the water and didn’t come back up until he had the prop in his hand.

The men quickly put the prop back on the motor but said… we need a Cotter pin– which is a split pin that goes through a small hole to block the prop from coming off. Then he asked my mother for one of her hair pins. We were on our way in a few moments. That was a very memorable moment.

I am sure many of you have used that expression and attitude to solve problems in business, school, family, etc. Please share your favorite with the rest of us.

Variations of this phrase:

Christian: ”Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find; knock , and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7

Law of Attraction: “We do not get what we want but we get what we vibrate (what we give attention, energy and focus to.)

Thanks,

Tom

Find a Mentor

1-cube“Succeeding in Business can be like trying to solve a Rubix Cube. Find a mentor.” Tom LeBlanc

“Learn from the experts. you will not live long enough to figure it all out by yourself.” Brian Tracy

I am sure that there are many others out there who have had some difficult times finding the right network marketing or Internet marketing business. My road was rough. The thing that was so frustrating was all the trial and error…mostly error.  There are so few leaders who can lead others to success. Remember from my recent post..“What People Really Want.” People are not looking for a product or a company but a leader.

Allow me to share a story with you that relates to the product I am about to review for you.

Several years ago I bought a Rubik’s Cube. I put a good bit of time into trying to solve it. Sometimes it seemed like I was getting very close… only to take one little wrong turn and have to start completely over.  I heard that there are something like 519,024,039,293,878,272,000 possible arrangements of the individual cubes. Although it seems impossible I know of many people who have solved it without help. And that is amazing.

I too learned to solve it… but only after found someone who had already done it. I found a mentor and I walked in his shoes. This particular mentor wrote a book about how to solve the cube. I followed step-by-step and actually did it. Then I even got where I could do it in about a minute without using the book. I could have never been able to do it without a mentor. And I liken solving the cube to learning how develop a successful Internet or Network marketing business. So, I guess the moral of this story is “find a mentor” or leader who can show you the way. It will greatly reduce the learning curve.

Destructive Power of Our Words

We must use our words carefully.

I am sure most of us have heard the saying,

“Sticks and stones will hurt my bones but words (names) can never hurt me.”

We said it, as kids, when we were verbally insulted. We told ourselves that words did not hurt us… BUT THEY DID. And they still do.

I conducted an experiment with my daughter… years ago to see how mere words influence us. It involved a technique called applied kinesiology. Here is how it went:

“Now, Janette, I am going to test your arm strength. Hold it out to the side and hold as I push down.” This is called an indicator muscle and it can tell us about what is happening in our system.”

I continued, “Now, I want yo to totally understand that what I am about to say is NOT TRUE. I am just going to say it to demonstrate a point. Your arm strength is strong not and now I am going to say something… but I AM JUST KIDDING, OKAY. Again, what I a am about to say is NOT TRUE. Ready?”

“Okay, Janette, I just checked the mail and got a report from your school. And guess what? You are flunking three of your classes? Now hold your arm out to the side so I can test it again. WOW, it’s a lot weaker, isn’t it? You can hardly hold it up.”

This illustrates the power of words. The words we say can be encouraging or destructive… even when we say, “I’m just kidding.” or “Just giving you a hard time.”

So, if you are working with business partners or a team or down-line be careful of your words. Words either BUILD UP or TEAR DOWN the people we speak them to.

In a future post I’ll describe what I discovered about how our body responds to negative words and even negative thoughts. You will see how our bodies actually undergo immediate physical changes (within seconds) in terms of muscle weakness patterns and bony misalignment in response to what he think or hear people say.

Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich” has said many memorable things, like:

“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice and is never the result of selfishness.”

“If you can not do great things, do small things in a great way.”

“Just as our eyes need light in order to see, our minds need ideas in order co conceive.”

You will enjoy many more of his quotations in the following video:

We Tend to Find What We are Looking For

Have you ever noticed how some people always see the negative aspects of people and places while others see the positive things about people and cities? I developed an illustration of why this works this way. Here it is:

Gather with a few people. Anywhere will work. Ask them to take 5 seconds to quickly look around and find three things that are blue. Then ask them to close their eyes and point out three things that are red. Most will only be able to remember the blue things and not the red. Why is that? Because they were looking for blue.

I heard a story that further illustrates this tendency we all have. A man, with his car full of clothes and all his belongings stopped at the entrance of a city to ask a man “What kind of people live around here?” The wise man at the entrance replied, “What kind of people lived where you came from?” The driver said, “Thieves, scoundrels, liars and cheaters.” The wise man then said, “Well, those are the types of people you will find living here.”

We tend to find what we are looking for. Whether we look for the positive or the negative in others we will always find it.

What is Attraction Marketing

“Attraction Marketing is Attracting those People who are eagerly seeking the ‘value’ you are offering.” Tom LeBlanc

Intro: First, it’s important to understand that there are basically two schools of thought. Let’s refer to them as the “old school” and the “new school.” Here is my take on it.

Old School Methods consist of leading with (talking about) your product or opportunity as soon as possible. In other words, they talk with everyone they know about what they are doing. They talk about their company, the products and the compensation plan. Some will be interested but usually most are not interested because they just were not looking for what you have when you approached them.

The New School (Attraction Marketing) is all about NOT leading with your company or product. Instead, the attraction marketer leads with value. Their goal is to provide people with valuable articles, videos and other types of training.

It’s a proven fact that would-be distributors or business partners want to get involved with people they like and trust. Even more so, they gravitate to those who are leaders in their field… people who can lead them to the fulfillment of their goals and dreams. The attraction marketer understands that by being a leader and providing valuable training (often free training) they will gain trust and respect. It’s called “Attraction Marketing” because these marketers tend to “attract” people to them. And not only people … but people who are interested in what they teach and people who are looking for the products or opportunities they offer.

Let’s face it– which is more attractive: trying to convince your friends and family to buy your products  and join your company or providing people valuable content that attracts just the right people to you and what you offer?

In summary the “old school” method leads with products and opportunities while the “new school” of attraction marketing leads with value that people are looking for. In the old school we “approach” people while in the new school they approach the attraction marketer because they have something seekers are actually looking for. Which do you think is easier? However, we must not forget that the old school has many good points. We must not throw out one and totally replace it with another.

As a Twitter user do you feel different when someone pitches you their product or when they provide you with some valuable information? Both methods work but the new school methods seem to work easier and with much less rejection.

A good example of a Tweeter who does a superb job of attraction on her blog is Vicki Berry. She has numerous “core” articles and videos. She has a unique approach of offering valuable content yet providing the important factors of one-on-one friendship building and trust-building aspects of the old school. You will find that she takes the best of both schools.
